Care GuidesCOMING SOON~ISH
Basic reptile, amphibian and pocket pet care guide cheat sheets. Providing a basic reference guide for general care, diet and some other note worthy information. |
We decided to open Lily Pad Pets in December 0f 2017 on a whim. In that moment we weren't thinking about the future or what direction we would want to take the store. The two things that we did know was that there was a need for a reptile pet shop in the area and that we did not want to be another stereotypical pet shop.
We set that tone from the first weekend we opened our doors. We may have been so bare boned on our first couple of weekends open that we had to sell the habitats our animals were housed in, if a set up was needed by our customers when a new pet went home. While we may have had to start with minimal means, the animal in our shop were healthy and had all the appropriate habitats. Including heating, UVB and a sense of security they need. We may have had to start our journey small, in a local flea market but that did not take away from the care and dedication we gave to our animals and to our customers. That dedication has never changed. While we have more than tripled our original size and are now expanding into carrying exotic pets and supplies, our focus has always been putting the wellbeing of the animals first. We joke that or shop is the "where is Waldo" of reptiles. We ensure, even our reptiles for sale have enough coverage to hide and feel secure. While some people may not like the fact that our animals are not right up front for their viewing pleasure, true animal people understand the effects of stress and appreciate that we make that our priority. As a business, obviously it's important that we are making money and we are able to pay our bills. We wouldn't have a business for very long if you didn't. However, as lifetime animal care providers, proper care of our animals and growing our business has always come first. That will never change. We invite you to visit us and give us the chance to show you the same experience our customers below had. |
This is the best store around for my reptiles! The owners keep everything in the store stocked and have personal knowledge of the items and animals they have in store. They are always able to answer questions and point us in the right direction when we need things ! Their feeders are always fresh and healthy so I feel good about feeding them to my pets- McPherson Family |
Was recommended by a Florida beardie group to go here for live feeders and they did not disappoint!! They had everything and anything I could ever need there! They also set me up with the rewards and I got a free dozen crickets! They are friendly and very welcoming my baby Drogo will be so happy!- Veronica S |
